International Women's Day Celebrated

International Women's Day celebrations were held at Rotary Club of Quilon on 8 March 2024 Theeradesa Mahila Society in collaboration with Fishermen Community Development Programme and Rotary Club of Quilon. Mrs. Agnes John ( Chairperson, FCDP) welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Veronica Antony ( President,TMS ) presided over the function .Mrs. Sreeja Hareesh ( Vice President district panchyath, Kollam) Inaugurated the event. Mrs. Elizabeth Lissy ( Headmistress Balika mariyam School, kollam) delivered Keynote address. Bindu Mary Francis ( IMO, ESI Dispensary, Pattathanam, President IMO, Desinganad)conducted the awareness class. Sr. Annie Joseph FMA (Superior, Sneha Kiran Convent), Dr. Manuel Peris (Secretary, Quilon Rotary Club), Mr. Sajeev Soman (Ward Councillor, Udayamarthandapuram, Chairman Public Works Standing Committee, Kollam Corporation), Shri. Tommy Napoleon (Ward Councillor, Pallithottam) extended greetings. Rev. Fr. Joby Sebastian SDB (Director, FCDP-TMS), Sr. Mary K. (Asst. Director, TMS) spoke on the occasion. Various programs were staged to express the exploitation of women in the society. FCDP-TMS board members and staff participated in the event which was attended by more than 400 women. This year's Women's Day celebrations was held under the theme "Empowering Women: Accelerating Progress".
